John Keith Cook's Obituary
COOK, JOHN KEITH, 58, of Dallas, Texas, passed away Thursday, March 20. He was born to the late J.D. (Jack) Jr. Cook and Stella Marie Cook on May 26, 1955 in Dallas, Tx. Keith graduated from Skyline High School in 1972 and received a Bachelor of Business Administration from North Texas State University in 1977. Keith was a member of Phi Theta Kappa. Keith married Christie Louise Sanderlin in 1977 and had a daughter in 1980. Keith co-founded Five State Brokerage, a food brokerage company, shortly after. Keith had a passion for the outdoors, enjoying all things Mother Nature had to offer him. He was a devoted family man and fun-loving friend. Keith was always on the move and loved to quote John Wayne “we’re burning daylight.” Keith is survived by his wife, Christie Cook; daughter, Rachael Cook-Merritt; son-in-law, Bryan Merritt; Grandsons, Jacob Wayne Merritt and Jack Dalton (J.D.) Merritt; Mother, Stella Cook-Post; Sister, Vicki Lynn Cook; Cousins, Tony, Denise, Matthew and Laura Bennett; George and Ruthann McTyre; and other extended cousins and many dearly loved friends. A viewing will be held at 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25th at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 26th at Restland Wildwood Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to The American Cancer Society.
