John Darryl Cox's Obituary
John Darryl Cox, age 72, of Denton, TX passed away on January 07, 2021 in Flower Mound Texas due to complications of dementia. He was born on June 14, 1948, to the late Johnny Francis Cox and Doris June Morris in Oak Cliff, Texas. Darryl married Brenda Kaltenthaler on December 31, 1993 in Oak Cliff, Texas. He worked as a telecommunication specialist in the Air Force, then started a civilian career with Southwestern Bell. Finally, a long career with Northern Telecom, retiring in 2000. Darryl served in the Air Force from April 30, 1969 to January 14, 1975 as a cryptographic equipment system repairman- rank of SGT. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kaltenthaler Cox of Denton, TX, step daughter; Kendall Crutchfield of Windham, NH, son; Gregory Brian Cox of Houston, TX, sister; Lana Janice Cox, brother in law John Hammond, both of San Marcos, TX. nieces and nephews; Kelley Luman Safin, Tracey Luman, Acacia Star Beauchamp, Justina Fisher, Raika and Lonnie Hammond, grandchildren; Carson and Katryna Cox of Houston, TX, Jacob (JC) Crutchfield of Windham, NH. He is preceded in death by his elder sister Judy Hammond of San Marcos, TX and his son Mark Alan Cox. Darryl was previously married to Becky Horn of Little Elm and Marilyn Sanders of Rowlett, TX. He had many friends and was well loved by all. He enjoyed cars and took loving care of his father's 1929 Model A pickup and his 1971 Triumph TR6. Darryl will be sorely missed for his friendly smile and happy attitude. He truly never met a stranger.
