John Crouch's Obituary
Born October 1, 1926 in Grandview, TX. At the age of 81, John passed away March 31, 2008 in Dallas, TX surrounded by loving family. He is preceded in death by his mother Emma and father Henry Claybourne. His sister, Emma Merritt Wilson, cousin, nieces and nephews survive him. As a young man he served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He served the Dallas Fire Department for 42 years and retired in 1988 as Battalion Chief. During his off duty hours he worked at Applied Art for the Neiman Marcus Fortnight every year. In his retirement years, he enjoyed each day of life with his family and watching Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys and all sports. John was a great man who loved his family and life. He married Wilma on April 15, 1950 and he devoted himself to his beloved wife and family for 58 years. John is a deeply loved husband and father and will be forever remembered by his wife and children. John’s devotion to his family and the unconditional love and support he gave so generously is his greatest legacy. John was a strong man and his family is fortunate that he remained full of life for all of his 81 years. He is dearly missed by, his wife Wilma, daughters Carol, Sherry, and Patricia, and sons Ronald and Alan.
