John was born August 8, 1914 in Sweetwater, TX and passed away May 17, 2009 in Mesquite, TX. He was preceded in death by both his parents. John is survived by his son, Johnny Dorris and wife, Gail; daughter, Phyllis Dorris; grandchildren, Kimberly Smith and husband, Chris and Pamela Simmons and husband, Scott; great grandchildren, Abi Smith, Kendra and Ryan Simmons. Services will be held at 12:30PM, Thursday, May 21, 2009 at Restland Wildwood Chapel with interment to follow in the Garden of Cross at Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-6:00 PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Restland Funeral Home.
