John Frank Fuller's Obituary
It is with great sorrow that the family of John Frank Fuller announces his departure from this earthly life on March 4, 2018 at age 89. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Joan Palfrey Fuller, daughter Francine Jo Fuller, son Jonathan Charles Fuller, his wife Allison, and grandchildren Olivia Story and Noah Charles Fuller; brothers Roy Lee Fuller and wife Pat, and David Story Fuller, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Gertrude Story & Roy Cox Fuller, sister Aletha Blanche Fuller, and nephew John David Fuller.Frank was born in Abilene, Texas on January 11, 1929. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hardin Simmons University in 1949. He began his 40 year career with Geophysical Service Inc. (predecessor of Texas Instruments), extensively travelling the world. He moved to London, England in 1960 where he met and married the love of his life Joan Palfrey (from Cardiff Wales). Both children were born in London, England.Consistent with their love for global travel, Frank and his family moved in 1967 to Sydney, Australia where he served as Manager of GSI’s operations in the Far East. They returned to Dallas in 1969, and Frank continued to work there until his retirement in 1989. After a few years, he was eager to get back to work, this time with Peerless Manufacturing, heading up International Operations out of Singapore. He finished up his final years in Dallas working until 2004.Frank embraced retirement, enjoying travel with his family, sports, visiting with friends, and coping with the challenges presented by the internet era (per Frank)Frank maintained ties to many professional and social organizations.He will be remembered by all who knew him as a caring, compassionate man, with utmost integrity and undeniably the most devoted husband, brother, father, grandfather, and friend.A memorial service celebrating Frank’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Wildwood Chapel.In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society.
