John Kirby Hall's Obituary
Kirby Hall, 64, resident of Dallas, Texas completed his life’s mission on Sunday, April 3, 2022. His
final resting place will be held on Saturday, April 9th @ 1:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home and
Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas, 13005 Greenville Ave. 75243. Celebration of life services will
follow at Fellowship Church of Grapevine, TX @ 3:00 p.m., 2450 N. Hwy 121 Grapevine, Texas
76051, Rev. Owen H. Goff officiating.
Kirby was born on June 2, 1957, to Mr. and Mrs. William T. Hall (Gloria) in Wichita, Kansas. As a
Corporate Executive, Mr. William T. Hall relocated to Texas and raised his family. Kirby graduated
from W.T. White High School. He was awarded a golf scholarship from Mc Lennon college, yet
went onto join the Golf Team at the University of North Texas. Kirby was active in Sigma Phi
Epsilon fraternity.
February 28, 2003, Kirby married the love of his life Cathy Huffington at Fellowship Church of
Grapevine, Texas, and enjoyed serving the Lord together. Another constant in Kirby’s life was the
love of golf. He participated in tournaments and teams at Brookhaven Country Club where Kirby
and his father, Mr. William T. Hall, succeeded in claiming the victory of a decade in the Father &
Son Championship.
In his early career, Kirby worked as a golf enthusiast at Columbian Country Club, now known as
Maridoe Golf Club. He later joined Grapevine Municiple Golf as an Assistant Pro. Kirby made an
impact in every endeavor he pursued with his fun wit and infectious smile. His love for serving
gentlemen on the green didn’t stop at the course, Kirby transitioned into his dream job at Cullwell
& Son.
Kirby was predeceased in death by his Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Orley Hall (Opal), Grandfather,
Mr. George McManus and Grandmother, Mrs. Elta McManus Matthews, Father, William T. Hall,
and Nephew, William Blake Hall. Survived by Wife, Cathy Huffington Hall, Mother, Gloria
McManus Hall, Aunt, Mary Ellen Whitlock, Brother, Wm. Thomas (Tom) Hall Jr. (Bonnie), Brother
– in – Law, James David Huffington (Susie), Nephew, Thomas Grant Hall, Niece, Kathryn McGee
(Greg), Great-Nieces, Avery and Lily Mae McGee and his beloved cousins.
Kirby will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his distinguished fur baby,
Oscar de La Renta Hall (“Oscar”).
