John Thomas Hanley's Obituary
John Thomas Hanley, 66 of Richardson, Texas passed away on August 28, 2017, in Lake Tahoe, California. He was born October 17, 1950, to Archie Melvin and Arline Elizabeth Yates Hanley in Roanoke, Virginia. On May 27, 1998 he married Freda Christy in Allen, Texas. He was a Certified Public Accountant with a Masters in Finance and spent 40 years in the oil and gas industry. John was a member of the Alpha Sigma Phi fraternity and was a Ruf/Nek at the University of Oklahoma along with being an Eagle Scout and active in local organizations in Richardson and the First United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his son, Timothy Hanley and parents Archie and Arline Hanley. He is survived by his wife, Freda Hanley of Richardson, Texas; son, Ryan Hanley and his wife Elizabeth of Plano; daughters, Christine Elizabeth and her husband, James Taylor of Helston, UK, Kathleen and her husband, Charles Guy of Waco, Texas, and Margeaux and her husband Mike Gibson of Egham UK. John leaves behind eight grandchildren, Gregory, Samantha, Eliana, Liora, Emma, Addison, Jack and Tim. The service to celebrate John’s life will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson located at 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, TX 75080. Donations in John’s name may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Richardson designated to Body and Soul or Missions, both of which were close to John’s heart. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
