John Lee Henderson's Obituary
John Lee Henderson, of Dallas, TX, passed away on January 1st, 2022 after 69 years. Anyone
who knew John knew that he was a most loving and caring father, spouse, and friend. John
was predeceased by his mother, Mildred Mudd Henderson, and his father, John Semmes
Henderson. He is survived by his wife, Norma Zarsuela Henderson, and his sons, Charles
Norman Zarsuela and Joshua Paul Henderson, his daughters-in-law Shelli Marie Zarsuela
and Angelica Amelia Landeros-Henderson, his grandsons, Cable John Zarsuela and Luke John
Henderson, and his grand-dogs Mei Mei and Jack.
He was born on July 24th, 1952 to John and Mildred Henderson in Dallas, TX. After
graduating from Sunset High School in 1971, he went on to study criminal justice in the state of
Alabama.
After graduation, John spent many illustrious years serving as police of icer in the state of
Alabama, earning his certifications in Huntsville, AL, and serving in various departments and
capacities.
Upon returning to Dallas, TX, he participated in Semi-Pro Football, where he played for
various teams, such as the Texas Knights of the United Independent Football League. In venues
ranging from Loos Stadium to the Cotton Bowl, he played both sides of the ball, as a tackle and
as a linebacker. Not only did he perform on the field, but he helped to recruit new players onto
the team as well.
John was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family as best he could as well as
protect them from all the dangers in the world. While he loved pro wrestling, boxing, football,
and the History channel, his family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He
loved his wife and two sons more than anyone could see on the surface.
Viewings will occur a day prior, on Monday, January 17th, from two o’clock p.m. to four, as
well as an hour prior to the funeral
John’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 18th, 2022, at two o’clock p.m. at Wildwood
Chapel, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas.
