John Grant Hilty Jr. was called home by his Heavenly Father on Sunday, September 29th,2024 in Richardson, Texas. He was born July 15,1945 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania to John Hilty Sr. and Katherine Valentine. John leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him. Growing up as a child, his father worked for Furr’s Cafeteria and the family moved from Pennsylvania to many other states, finally ending up in Texas. John was a graduate of American School in Chicago Illinois, after graduation he served in the Army as a medic for a hospital in Missouri. John enlisted in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969. In 1975 while attending the New Testament Church, he met his wife Pamela Hawes and had a happily 25 years of marriage and two daughters. He was employed by AT&T for 20+ years and retired in 2001. John was an avid coin collector who loved using his metal detector to find many treasures. He also enjoyed watching his wrestling, sports, and game shows. He is preceded in death by his parents John Hilty Sr. and Katherine Valentine, his sister Dot Hollis, and his wife Pamela Hilty. He is survived by his daughters Faith and Heather Hilty and son-in-law Brian Crouse, 1 granddaughter Trinity Willis, 2 grandsons Sebastian and Jackson Crouse, 1 brother Fred Hilty, and his 4 nephews Charles Eugene, Scott, Ricky, and Tommy Bayes. Funeral arrangements for Mr. John Hilty Jr. have been made at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, which is located at 13005 Greenville Ave. Dallas Tx 75243 and will be held at the Memorial Chapel. The viewing will begin at 1, followed soon after by the service at 2 on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024.
