John Douglas "Doug" Hipp's Obituary
John Douglas Hipp, Age 79 of Mesquite, TX was born on April 20, 1944 in Lawton, OK to John and Estelle (Stamper) Hipp, passed away on April 28th, 2023. He was happily married to Loretta (Rich) Hipp on June 12, 1965.
Doug was an intelligent and hard-working man who was very determined and dedicated to always taking care of his family. He loved his family and his pets. Doug was a quiet man but showed his love best through acts of service to those he cared for. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything! From boats and cars to carpentry or anything electrical, he could do it all. Doug's hobbies included photography, reading sci-fi novels, woodworking and travel.
He served in the US Army Reserves from 1965-1970 as SP5 Clerk.
Preceded in death by his parents, John & Estelle Hipp; sister, Dolores Langford (Charles Langford), and granddaughter, Charisma Estelle Lukas.
Survived by his wife, Loretta May Hipp; daughters, Deanna Kay Fitzgerald (Patrick Fitzgerald) and Yvonne Lynn Pfingsten (Allen Pfingsten); grandchildren Tabitha Michelle Hipp (Cole Rupard), Kaylee Elizabeth Fitzgerald (Xiaofei Xiong), and William Douglas Fitzgerald; and his brothers, Ronal Lynn Hipp (Jan Hipp) and Monty Lance Hipp.
Visitation will be 6-8PM on Thursday, May 4, 2023, at Restland Funeral Home.
Funeral services will commence at 10:00AM on Friday, May 5, 2023, in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Interment in the Court of Trinity at Restland Memorial Park will follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions should be directed in Doug's memory to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org).
Doug will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
