John A. Jones' Obituary
Mrs. John A. Jones was born June 30, 1929, in Yowell, Texas, to William and Wade Atkins, and died on June 15, 2009 in Dallas, Texas. John never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone that she encountered during her life. She married the love of her life, Boyd L. Jones, on April 23, 1955, and they have two sons, Boyd Lee and Brian. John’s dedication, love and loyalty to her family were of the utmost importance to her. John and her husband were members of White Rock United Methodist Church where she taught children’s Sunday school for many years. John was also a member of the Walk to Emmaus ministry. John is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters, and her sister-in-law Florence Jones. John is survived by husband, Boyd, and their sons and daughter-in-laws, Boyd Lee and Connie Jones of Mesquite, Texas, and Brian and Jamye Jones of Mansfield, Texas; sisters Wauhilla York of Hanford, California, and Jeanne Hughes of Lancaster Texas; grandchildren, Maranatha and her husband John Lingerfelt of Mesquite, Texas, Elizabeth Jones of Houston, Texas, Jessica, Henry and Timothy Jones of Mansfield, Texas; great-granddaughter, Madison Lingerfelt, of Mesquite, Texas, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other family members. Funeral services were held Friday, June 19, 2009 at White Rock United Methodist Church with interment at Restland Cemetery.
