John Joseph Lanzillo, Jr.'s Obituary
Mr. John Joseph Lanzillo, Jr., age 88, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. He was born to Mr. John Joseph Lanzillo, Sr. and Ms. Mary Elizabeth (Cereghino) on September 10, 1933, in Rutland, Vermont. John leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
John served in the U.S. Navy Second Class as an Aviation Electronics Technician from March 1952 to March 1956. He graduated from Christian Brothers University, Cum Laude, May 1960. His first Electrical Engineering job was at Martin Marietta in Orlando, FL, June 1960. He moved to Texas for employment with Texas Instruments in June 1962. He began Zonk Engineering Company in 1971, which later became Zonk & Associates, Inc. in 1981, and in 1996 became Zonk Group, Inc. He had a second business ZEC Sales Company started in 1972, later to become ZEC Sales Inc. in 1981.
Zonk loved the Texas Rangers, golf, skiing, work, traveling and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Lanzillo; his children and their spouses, John J. III and Jan Lanzillo, Regina Lanzillo Embry, Chris and DeLynda Lanzillo; his grandchildren, Bryan L. Embry, Elizabeth (Beth) Embry, John (Johnny) J. IV and Holly Lanzillo, Robert “Bobby” Lanzillo, Chance W Lanzillo; his great-grandchildren, ZeeAnna L Embry, Rachel L Hoeffner, Carley S Hoeffner, Isabella G Embry, John J Lanzillo, V, Ara M Winkleman, Renner T Winkleman; his siblings and their spouses, Robert and Karen Lanzillo, and James (Jimmy) Lanzillo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
Funeral services for John will be at 10 AM Saturday, October 9, at Restland Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM Friday, October 8, at Restland Funeral Home.
