I appreciated John’s work on the city council. He stood up for what what right and fair with such confidence and flair. When I joined the Teng family and started seeing John at our family restaurant, I was so delighted to have him and his friends dine with us. I would look forward to his visits.

I remembered John as a teenager studying and doing his homework at his dad’s restaurant. I admired his focus, commitment and knew he was going far and would make an impact on this world. John, you were always my touchstone for what was and wasn’t true about Dallas politics and people in it. I will miss your cutting wit and your ungentle truth. John was my attorney and the best friend that anyone could ask for. He represented in court and we played the prosecutor like a harp from hell. It was good day that day. Ever since that day, i stop by bring him jam, banana bread, or something else. I even sent clients and had my non-profit paid for it because no good friend lets another good friend go belly up in the sun. I loved him and his occasional weird sense of humor. I will always love you Mr.Loza.
I am absolutely devastated to hear this news. John was my best friend for decades. I have known him for almost 45 of my 55 years. He helped me get thru my mother’s death in 1979. His parents helped raise me. My grandparents thought so much of him that he was the executor of their estates in 1994. I am absolutely devastated to hear this news.David, I am so very sorry for your loss. John was a wonderful man.
