I'm very sad to hear about John. Wow, I'm not used to calling him 'John'…I knew Mr Lunde best 20 years ago, when Dave and I were high school best friends. He had a stoic confidence that in all honesty I didn't appreciate at the time. He probably knew who I 'was' more than I did at 17. I hope he is looking down on me right now, laughing, and thinking about me stealing cheese slices from his fridge. Or maybe he's biding his time, waiting for that day I'll join him, and he can have a Pictionary re-match! My heart is with you, Doris. I pray that you will find strength in this trying time. Dave: I love you like a brother. It ain't always easy. I know first hand that your dad is very proud of you and the father that you have become.

We will miss John. He will always be remembered for his generosity, his helpful caring ways, and his calm personality. While working with him, he spoke quite often of his family. He talked about how proud he was to be a grandfather and uncle. He talked about Doris, his son, and family in California and Iowa. He enjoyed sharing stories about his family and we knew his happiness was there with all of you. He was a great man and we will miss him dearly.

My thoughts are with all of you during this hard time. Uncle John was a wonderful man and he will be remembered. The thing I remember most is how he opened his house to his family. My Grandma's (Donna) 25th Wedding Anniversary with a surprise visit from Uncle Mike is one that will stay with me forever.

I can't even begin to imagine what you all must be going through. In my eyes John was always a Big Teddy Bear. His kindness to me will never be forgotten. I could not have asked for a better Grandfather for Maressa. She always came home from Texas with great tales of all she had done with John and Doris. May God comfort you in this time of sorrow.
