John Lee Milliken's Obituary
John Lee Milliken, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on August 18, 2022. He was born on April 9, 1945, in Sherman, Texas, to Earl and Hazel Milliken. John was a 1963 graduate of Denison High School, and received his college degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, in 1968.
While in college, John met the love of his life, Pam Holland, and they were married on July 8, 1967. He was a proud American, and served his country in the United States Army for 6 years, during and after, the Vietnam War. While going to school he began his career with Kroger as a package boy and stocker. He and his family moved to Dallas in 1970, to manage his first store. John was promoted to an executive, where he remained until his retirement from Kroger, John continued in the food industry as a food broker and consultant. In retirement he became an avid Facebook participant, known as “Cowboy John”, and was an ardent Trump supporter.
John is survived by his wife, Pam; children, Susan and husband Tim, Patrick, Kathleen and husband David; grandchildren, Jake, Clare, Jackson, Nick and Andrew; sister, Elaine and husband Bennie Pierce; sisters-in law, Joanne Milliken and Kay Holland; brothers-in-law, Mike and Larry Holland; nieces, nephews and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Earl Milliken. Jr.
John died peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family.
