John George Mueller, DDS, MD's Obituary
Dr. John George Mueller was born in Ada, Oklahoma, on September 1, 1930. He passed on to eternal life in Dallas, Texas, on August 5, 2022.
John was raised by Clarence and Ruby Mueller in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. He served as class president and graduated from Okmulgee High School in 1948. As a senior, he excelled at quarterback and helped the Bulldogs to win a state championship, which led to being selected to the Oklahoma All-State football team.
John attended Duke University, joined Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, and graduated in 1953. While at Duke, he met Genevieve (Dady) Zanner, and in 1954, they married in Washington, D.C.
In 1957, John received his DDS from the University of Maryland. He served as Army Captain and oral surgeon at Fort Bliss through 1960. In 1965, he received his MD from the University of Maryland. John completed his surgery and anesthesia residencies at The University of Oklahoma in 1969.
In 1970, John joined an anesthesia practice serving Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. After his divorce, he moved to Texas in 1977 to become the Chief of Anesthesia at Brookhaven Medical Center in Farmers Branch (Dallas suburb).
John served at Brookhaven for 23 years until his retirement at age 70 in 2000. While at Brookhaven, he met Elaine Kruse, and they married in Plano, Texas, in 2002.
John was one-of-a-kind: interesting, curious, memorable, energetic, enthusiastic, intense, hard-working, and constantly learning. With nicknames including Doc, Grandoc, and Dr. John, he was loved and will be missed by colleagues, friends, and family.
John is survived by Elaine Mueller (wife); Lee (daughter) and Jim Linn; Jessica (granddaughter) and Penn Collins; Dale (daughter), Lee, and Sarah Smith; John (son), Jan, Megan, Mackenzie, and KK Mueller; Eve (daughter), Mark, and Marissa Henson; Laura Delaney (granddaughter); Clare Ru Haskin (sister); Ruthie Beam (niece); and John Beam (great-nephew).
