John Hampton Persefield's Obituary
John Hampton Persefield DALLAS — John Hampton Persefield, 75, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020. John was a devoted husband to Barbara, proud father to Steffanie and John Mark, and beloved Papa to Connor, Cooper, Holden, Maddy and Abigail. He never met a stranger and was known for his playful spirit and ability to spark a conversation. He loved the Lord, his family, his country and cheering for the Texas Longhorns. He proudly served his country as a Marine, both through active duty and continued service through the Marine Reserves, having been awarded the Honor Guide of his platoon at basic training and made PFC in boot camp. John advanced through the ranks working with the Texaco/Shell Company for more than 30 years, beginning as a truck driver in Amarillo, Texas and retiring as Assistant Terminal Manager in Houston, Texas. Moving to the Dallas area to be closer to his children and grandchildren, he was a member of Spring Valley United Methodist Church and enjoyed fellowship with the Seekers Class and his church family. John is survived by his wife, Barbara Persefield; his daughter, Steffanie and her husband Carl Lazzell; his son, John Mark and his wife Misty; and his grandchildren Connor Lazzell, Cooper Lazzell, Holden Persefield, Madeleine Persefield and Abigail Persefield; sister Jane Stephens; brother William Persefield. We would also like to specifically thank the caregivers at Faith Presbyterian Hospice. Their generous and loving care will not be forgotten.
