John Eddie Powell's Obituary
John Eddie Powell, age 64, passed on to his forever home in Heaven. He passed on February the 1st at his home in Richardson, Texas.
John was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan to his mother, Linda Ruth Powell and his father, John Edward Powell on March 29th, 1961. He will join them, his late sister Theresa Powell-Mullins, his bro Chuck Gray, and many other loving family members in the Lord's embrace.
He found second parents in his mother-in-law, "Mama" Darcy Chaves and his father-in-law, "Papa" Luiz Chaves. He was a very accomplished engineer, a loving husband and father, a caring family member and friend to all, and a source of tremendous joy and laughter.
John liked music and movies of all genres, but his favorite pastime by far had to be putting smiles on people's faces. He also truly enjoyed his work as an engineer and always said, "find something you love to do, turn it into your career, and you'll never work a day in your life."
John is survived by his wife, Ana C. Powell; his daughter, Gabriella C. Powell; his son, Lucas E. Powell; his sister, Judy Sierra Powell-Gray (Kent Evans); and brothers-in-law, Tom Mullins and Junior Chaves (Cida). "Uncle Bubby" is also survived by nieces and nephews Melissa Mullins, Angela Gray (Garrett Bunting), Chuck Gray (Christi and kids), and Mike Mullins (Gayle).
John is also survived by many extended family members, including Aunt Betty, Aunt Carlene, many other Powell, Gray, and McCoy family members, and in-laws.
Thank you to all who loved John during his time with us and for all of your prayers for himself and his family during this time. God bless.
