I met John at a Panera Bread in Dallas and we became friends and would meet three times a week for several years. When the pandemic started we talked by phone every day until his passing. We would solve the world's problems and John would talk about his interests in maps, geography, roads, waterways and many other topics. He was especially proud of his work at the California Highway Dept. laying out roadways. John was amused when I dug up his old HIgh School yearbook photos showing his football days. We also talked about spiritual things and John was always comforted when we read the Lord's prayer and prayed together. John was a great friend and I will miss him.
