John A. Ragland's Obituary
Ragland, John Awbrey Born August 21, 1932 in Dallas, Texas. After a 14 year battle with cancer, John passed away September 12, 2009 in Dallas. He handled his illness with grace and dignity. He was a graduate of North Dallas High School and SMU, and also attended Baylor Dental College. He had a showroom at the Dallas Apparel Mart for thirty years. He enjoyed volunteering at the Scottish Rite Hospital and was active with the North Dallas High School Alumni Association. His passions were traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. He was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Harriet and her children, Mike Malone and wife Gloria, and Patti Malone Campbell, 6 grand daughters, Jennifer Moody and husband Scott, Alison Smith and husband Dave, Heather, Hilary, Holly, and Hayley Campbell; three great-grandchildren, Jordan Moody, Miles and Greyson Smith and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Miller and Nancy Bates. Services will be held Wednesday, September 16th at 2:30 pm at HPUMC, Cox Chapel. Graveside services to be held at Restland Memorial Park on Greenville Ave.
