John B. Rice Jr.'s Obituary
John B. Rice Jr., formally of Greenup County Ky., son of the late Rev. John B. Rice, Sr. and the late Willa Ann Heaberlin Rice, passed into the realm of God on October 6th., 2007, in Gunter, Texas. John was born November 18th 1931. He was an accomplished musician, an author of several books and an active member of First Baptist Church of Dallas, Tx. He dedicated himself to serving the Lord and all mankind, through an active prison ministry in Huntsville Tx. He brought peace to many assisting with their troubles and rehabilitation. John was also proceeded in death by his wife, Lois Helen Rahn Rice, and their infant son; three brothers, Floyd Vernon Rice, Robert Waldo Rice, and Harold Lillburn Rice, and one sister Anna Marquerite Rice Ingrahm. Survivors include five sisters; Esther Ferguson of Worthington Ky., Gwen Clark of Hillsboro, Oh., Verna Melvin of Wurtland, Ky., Dorothy Duncan of Ashland, Ky. and Britta Bridges of Mt. Vernon, Oh. and one brother Paul Rice of Cincinnati, Oh. and sons Patrick Dunn of Troy, Mo. and Edward Webb of Claremore, Ok. John is also survived by special friends Midge Douglas of Dallas, Tx., Eddie Harvin of Denton, Tx. and a host of others. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
