John Granville Rickerson's Obituary
John Granville Rickerson was born August 6, 1931, in Princeton, Texas. He passed away peacefully of Alzheimer’s disease on November 13, 2021, in Southlake, Texas.
John was preceded in death by Nora and Erastus Rickerson (mother and father), siblings James Harold Rickerson, Elaine Dotson and Mary Bryant, wife Hazel Rickerson, son John Jr. and daughter Regina Otten.
Survived by sons Bret and Bruce Rickerson and grandchildren Christa Rickerson, Austin Rickerson, Katelyn Otten, Brandon Otten, and Logan Otten.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, Court of Veterans IV area, Dallas, Texas. The address to the funeral home is: 13005 Greenville Avenue Dallas, Texas 75243.

John was raised on a farm in Princeton, TX with his three siblings. They worked hard on the farm. His mother and father instilled in him a solid work ethic which he carried throughout his life.
His parents raised him in the church to know Jesus. John married Hazel McKnight and they also raised their children to know Christ. John and his wife, Hazel, raised and provided for 3 children into adulthood, losing a fourth (John Jr.) at birth.
John graduated from Princeton HS and Iowa State University with a degree in agronomy and aspirations to be a golf course architect.
He was drafted into the Army shortly after the end of the Korean War and was honorably discharged after his service commitment.
After discharge from the Army, John completed his degree. From there, John would embark on and enjoy a successful 40-year career in pharmaceutical sales.
John and his only wife, Hazel, raised and provided for 3 children, loosing a fourth at birth.
John was dedicated to God, his family, and his career. He will be missed by those that knew and loved him.
