John Fisher Rothermel's Obituary
John Rothermel, Jr died at the age of 93 years on December 22, 2016 in Dallas County Texas. He was the son of John F. Rothermel Sr. and Winifred Braswell Rothermel (Saunders) who both preceded him in death. His wife of over 60 years Minnie Monk Rothermel died in 2006. Heirs are John F. Rothermel, III (and wife, Jaquie Rothermel) and Charles M. Rothermel (and wife Pamela Rothermel). Grandchildren are Joel Rothermel (and wife Lorinda Rothermel and children Lauren Rothermel and Laila Rothermel) , Jeremy Rothermel, Jason Rothermel (and wife Crystal Rothermel and children Clark Rothermel and Gemma Rothermel ) , Adrienne Polisky (and husband Steve Polisky) and Christopher Marietta and Kelly Rothermel Vickers (and husband Jarred Vickers and children Kinley and Cameron ) Julie Rothermel (McCauley and husband Ryan and children Abigail and Patrick ), Philip Rothermel (and wife Sarah Rothermel and Madison(deceased)), and Brandon Rothermel (and wife Adria Rothermel). He was born in Birmingham Alabama on November 16, 1923. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and graduated from Birmingham Southern College after the war. John and Minnie moved to Dallas in 1950. John was a retiree from the Sherwin Williams Paint Company where he developed commercial paints for many large companies including John Deere and Texaco. He was also a past president of the Texas Society of Paint Chemists. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church for over 50 years, where the funeral service will be held on Friday December 30, 2016 at 11:00 AM. The church is located at 848 Harter Road, Dallas TX 75218. Burial will be a family ceremony at Restland Cemetery following the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John’s Episcopal Church.
