John Clinton Shanks' Obituary
SHANKS, JOHN CLINTON Born in Dallas, Texas on October 12, 1928, to William Jefferson Shanks and Ada Mae Burgess Shanks, went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 3, 2011. He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William Jefferson Shanks, Jr.; a sister, Mary Lee Shanks Walker; an infant daughter, Catherine Shanks; and a wife, Frances Wilson Shanks. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice Ingram Shanks, and five children, David Shanks and his wife Susan, Earl Shanks and his wife Laurie, Susan Frank and her husband Kent, Wanda Carter and her husband Ronnie, and Laura Preston and her husband David. He was blessed with 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Restland Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 AM on Friday, January 7, 2011 in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church of Dallas.
