John Bradford Taylor was born in Brooklyn NY on Nov 27,1939 to Frank Bradford Taylor and Rose Elizabeth Manning Taylor.
His mother predeceased him in 1945 while he was in the first grade. He is also predeceased by his oldest son John Bradford Taylor, Jr. 1971-1985.
He is survived by his wife Larica, youngest son Kent Taylor, wife Kyle and grandson Rhett.
John’s family moved to Clearwater, FL while he was in high school. He graduated at the top of his class from the University of Florida in 1963 with a BSEE and in 1964 with a ME. During a summer break from college, John and 3 friends - Kent Masterson, Bob Handley, and Ken McNulty drove all around the US. They left Florida and went to New York continuing on to Connecticut. From there they drove across Canada and ended up on the west coast. There they went south to San Diego. Then back to Florida following I10 through Houston. Getting back just in time for school to start. They had many different jobs that summer, always making just enough money to buy food and gas. They lived experiences throughout this trip that would turn into stories they’d tell for the rest of their lives. That summer of fun would have made a great movie. John moved to Dallas in 1964 going to work for Texas Instruments later working at Recognition Equipment. He had several patents to his credit during his time in business. He ended his professional career owning his own business, lastly designing a wind turbine engine used for harvesting electrical energy from the passing wind. His favorite activity was fishing. He belonged to the S.O.B. Club and went fishing as often as possible at locations across North, Central and South America. Kent Masterson was his best fishing buddy, predeceasing John in 2024. Give Masterson a beer and he would start telling a story about one of their fishing trips.
John was the quiet one. Always letting his friend tell the story.
