Jack celebrating his dad's 76th birthday.
Without a doubt Jack was an original. Although it has been many years since we have seen Jack we have often thought of him. Our family has so many fond memories of the time that we spent with him at Notre Dame and also at our home with our son Gerry, Jr. His humor was appreciated by our entire family as he impersonated the characters on Saturday Night Live and of course his rendition of the song, "Take this Job and Shove It". My husband and I couldn't help but reminisces about the night he spent the night and when our 92 year old Grandma was surprised by Jack as he impersonated a ghost– he was supposed to surprise Gerry, Jr. but accidentally mixed up the bedrooms and entered her room by mistake rather than Gerry Jr's. Needless to say, I'm not sure who was more shocked, but it certainly got the household's attention and has been a cause for laughter for many years. We are so sorry for your loss. We'll remember him in our prayers and hope that your memories of the good times will see you through this time of sorrow. – Marlene Lingle

John, Barbara and Mary Beth: I am so sorry to hear the news of Jack's passing. He was always so funny as a kid. I will always remember his funny comments at the Pritchett 4th of July parties in Fort Worth. I remember later in life he came to see a show I played when I was in my 20s, and he was the only one there!! My band had a good time playing for Jack and we all talked on breaks and even to each other during the show on a number of topics! He was smoking cigarettes then and I think the other guitar player in my group even had a few smokes with Jack. Jack was a very gentle, smart and courageous man. My condolences and peace to you all. Jack was a delight to teach when he was in elementary school. As his vision teacher, we worked very hard on his typing skills. I remember he had one of the old typewriters that was used in the school. He would always greet me with a smile and then he wanted to work on his tasks. I am sitting here writing this and seeing him in my mind as he worked and seeing him happy. Many children aren't blessed with such fine parents and family. He was truly blessed. It was truly a blessing to have had Jack as a student of mine, and have known his mother so well. It is not possible to be at the service in person, but I will accompany you in prayer. I'm sending my love and thoughts to all of you this day. John 14. Jack has one of these mansions today.
