John Mc Cullough Ticer's Obituary
John McCullough Ticer, 81, of Richardson, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 26th. He was born on February 16th, 1942, to the late Samuel and Margaret Ticer in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
John was a courageous veteran of the US Army, serving with distinction in the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam as a medic. His bravery and medical skills were pivotal in saving many lives during his service, and notably at the Battle of Hill 937, also known as Hamburger Hill, in the A Shau Valley. He was awarded several distinguished commendations including the Bronze Star, Good Conduct, and Expert Rifle medals and was a respected and well-liked member of his unit.
Following his service, John worked diligently for many years at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas. His hard work and dedication were hallmarks of his career. A lover of horses and woodworking, John found solace and joy tending to his cherished ranchette.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Tamra Hargus (Carl) and Tiffany Edwards (Shane), and his grandchildren, Taylour and Cody Hargus, and Grayson and Mason Edwards. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nancie; his daughter, Tanya; and his sisters, Mary Ticer and Emily Fields. Randy, Lindsey, his third wife, also survives him.
A private memorial service for close friends and family will be arranged at a later date.
