John Warren Wainwright's Obituary
John Warren Wainwright, Son, Brother, Friend, and Road Construction Superintendent John Warren Wainwright of Seagoville and formerly of Grand Prairie, died in Dallas TX on June 4, 2015 while hospitalized at Baylor. Born October 9, 1944 in Corpus Christi TX to Wesley B. Wainwright Jr. and Marjorie Olsen Wainwright. John spent the first 15 years of his life as Navy dependent living on or near US Naval Air bases throughout the US and the far Pacific. John graduated from Grand Prairie High School and worked 50 years in the road construction industry. He started in that industry with Austin Paving, Site Concrete, JRJ Paving and other companies before having a disabling stroke in 2011 that ended his work career. John was liked and well respected by almost everyone he met or worked with. John also had a deep love for his family and friends, and would go out of his way to help friends in need and also check on them to see how they were doing. John was born with several medical problems at birth, and underwent a heart operation to repair a defective valve by age of one. John became seriously ill in his early 20s due to failure of the only one kidney he was born with. In 1966 he underwent a kidney transplant and had done well until his stroke in 2011. He always said his age was a year younger since new kidney was from his younger brother Dennis. John had been one of the longest surviving kidney transplant patients up to his death. His father Wesley B Wainwright Jr, mother Marjorie Olsen Wainwright, and brother Wesley B. Wainwright III preceded John in death. He is survived by his brother Dennis Wainwright and wife Mary of Houston TX; nephew Jeffery Wainwright, wife Vanna, and children Breanna and Corbin of Temple, TX; nephew Jason Wainwright, wife Amy, and children Ava and Ella of Arlington, TX, and Sheila Wainwright, and many cousins and friends. A memorial service will be held in Dallas at the Restland Cemetary on June 27, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the Abbey Chapel. The family has asked donations be made to the American Stroke Association. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
