So grateful for the military funeral Grady desired. When we spoke at Thanksgiving, just weeks before his death, he was careful to tell me that he WAS NOT giving up in his battle for a return to health. But he very much struck me as a valiant soldier who knew what must happen next when the enemy was pressing in and his powder had run dry. Still, he did not flinch nor turn away. He faced it square and brave. He leaned on his faith and continued to give to everyone until the very end. What a heart! What a man! What a brother.
