John Keith Watzling's Obituary
John Keith Watzling died peacefully in El Paso, Texas at the age of 82. John is survived by his son, John Keith Watzling Jr. (Laura); daughter, Marcy Hull (Dave); sister, Yvonne Watzling Beichner; grandchildren, Zachery Hull, Savannah Hull, Shannon Watzling and Jackie Watzling; and nieces, Carla Beichner and Christy Carter. John was born on May 11, 1932 in Myrtle Point, OR, to Edward and Anne Watzling. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1950 with a degree in Horticulture. After graduating he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army and traveled the world including Germany, Korea, and Vietnam. He married, and from this union 2 children were born. His children remember him as a kind, generous, and loving father. John was accomplished at his position at Aetna, as a Claims Supervisor. He was passionate about gardening, traveling and his numerous friendships. He was an active and dedicated member of the Cathedral of Hope, and many other organizations, often as a leading member. He was extremely generous and all that knew him will remember his constant bright happy smile. The funeral service for John will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 06, 2014 at the Cathedral of Hope, Dallas, Texas, with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate John’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank all the caregivers at Monte Vista in El Paso Texas for their dedication and loving care. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
