John Corbin Weller's Obituary
Passed away peacefully at his home in Dallas, TX on Feb. 1, 2015 surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 2, 1931 to Oscar and Marian Hall Weller in Syracuse, NY. He later moved to Summit, NJ where he graduated from Summit H.S. It was there that he met, and later married his lifetime partner and devoted wife of 61 years, Nancy Yager. John attended Lafayette College in Easton, PA on a football scholarship, and joined the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He enjoyed successful careers in sales and sales management with H.J. Heinz, Johnson & Johnson, and Hartz Mountain Corp., spanning a total of 42 years before retiring in 1995. Family and friends considered him the consummate host, always having their favorite food and beverages on hand. John was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother, Allan Weller and is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, son John H. Weller, son Steve Weller and wife Charlotte; daughter Karen Klugh and husband Jim; 6 grandchildren Austin, Natalie, and Matthew Weller; James Klugh, and Hutson and Greyson Weller; brother in law, William Yager, Jr. and wife, Carol; 5 nieces and nephews; and many close friends. In particular, his longtime friend, John R. Hutson of Greensboro, N.C. John was a lifetime Episcopalian, and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dallas. He always maintained that God blessed him and strengthened him each and every day, particularly with family, friends, and his Church. John was cremated and will be buried next to his mother and father-in-law at Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243 during a private memorial service to be determined later. The graveside service will be officiated by longtime friend, The Rev. Terrance Jordan. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St John’s Episcopal Church’s Memorial fund, 848 Harter Rd.
