50 years ago Wink and I traveled many roads and enjoyed every mile and each other. The things we did not do or try to do were not worth doing. We were daily companions up until Wink joined the Navy. For me learning that he would be home soon on leave was as exciting as the anticipation of Christmas. We recently rejoined our friendship. Too many stories left untold. My family lived next door to the Winkler home for many,many years and made some lasting friendships. Johnny always asked if I needed anything done around my house, when he was next door. And the many times I asked him for help, he was willing, able and got the job done. He will be sorely missed by his loved ones and by the many people he befriended.
