John Hughes Young's Obituary
John Hughes Young of Winnsboro, passed away March 25, 2011 at the age of 84. He was born in Dallas, Texas on October 27. 1926. He graduated from Adamson High School and attended Texas A&M University. John served in the 33rd Infantry Division, US Army in WWII. He retired from Roach, Howard, Smith & Hunter after a lifetime career in the insurance business. After retirement, John served as Fire Chief of the Ogburn Volunteer Fire Dept. and participated in many activities associated with the fire dept. He was a member of First Methodist Church, Winnsboro. He was preceded in death by his parents Sam & Ruth Oliver Young and brothers, Robert, William, Sam, and James Young. He is survived by his wife Ora and his sons Doug & wife Kathann, J.D. & wife Stacey; daughter, Leann & husband Roland Dablo; step-daughter, Michelle & husband William Johnson; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service.
