Johnnie Frankie Bateman's Obituary
BATEMAN, JOHNNIE FRANKIE Born in Fairview, TX, March 17, 1917, the daughter of John Robert Broyles and Malinda Speer Broyles. Mrs. Bateman grew up in Brownsboro, TX and married her husband, Arthur A. Bateman in 1933. They traveled to Texas and Louisiana related to oilfield work for Bateman Drilling Company. They decided to settle in Dallas in 1957. Mrs. Bateman was a longtime member of Lover’s Lane Methodist Church where she was active in Woman’s Society and taught Sunday school. She retired from Page Drug Stores/Tom Thumb in 1975. As well as being an ardent Cowboys fan and excellent cook, she hand-made individual quilts for all her children and grandchildren with her sewing skills. She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Arthur A. Bateman; grandson, James A. Theriot and three sisters, Lena, Lucille and Dora Lurene (Doreen). She is survived by three daughters, Betty Simon and husband, Richard, Mary Ketchersid, Thelma Kettler and husband, Bill; 10 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
