Johnnie Louise Powell age 71, of Mesquite, TX, died on March 4, 2015. She was married to Grant for 50 years, enjoyed shopping, reading, and animals. Her greatest joy came from spending time with family. Preceded in death by parents, Robert and Edna Galyean; step mother, Esther Galyean; husband, Hugh Grant Powell; sisters, Brenda Galyean, Pauline Sullivent, Nadine Jacobs; brother, Dwain Galyean. Survived by daughter, Delynda Venable and husband, Patrick; granddaughter, Amanda Powell; grandson, Jeremy Sabih and wife, Mina; great granddaughter, Emily Powell; sister, Mattie Chandler; brother, Jack Lavender, a host of neices and nephews and last but not least “Duke the Dog”. The visitation for Johnnie Powell will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Restland Funeral Home. The service for Johnnie will be held on Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
