Jolyn Carpenter Castricone's Obituary
Amy Jolyn Carpenter-Castricone, of Wylie, Texas, died Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Medical Center Plano after a sudden illness. She was born in Newport Beach, California, January 4, 1973, to Joe and Annette Carpenter. Jolyn was an excellent student ; she received her Bachelor of Arts in 1994 from Texas Christian University. She went on to a successful career as a high school teacher. She taught social studies to students at Grand Prairie High School and Sachse High School. She also served as the staff sponsor for the student council at GPHS. She was devoted to her family and to her church. She was a meticulously organized person, but always had a friendly spirit and a warm smile. She was a world traveler, and enjoyed recounting her adventures, particularly during her mission trips to Africa. She was a very giving person, and always looked for a way to help people. She was the family archivist, with thousands of family photos under her expert care. Jolyn is survived by her husband, Joseph, her daughter Landry Grace; her parents Joe and Annette Carpenter, her sister Jonette and her husband Travis, her nieces Mahaleigh, Miranda, Marisa; nephews Martin & Aaron; her Aunt Barbara and Uncle Juan; and her Aunt Shirley and Uncle Wayne; and many cousins. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday September 16, 2009 at First Assembly of God, Firewheel, 5500 Lavon, Garland. Viewing will be at Restland in Dallas on Tuesday September 15, 2009, from 6 to 8 PM.
