Jon Fredric Cobb's Obituary
Jon Fredric Cobb passed away peacefully Saturday, December 7, 2019. He was born August 22, 1935 in Mesquite, TX to Bessie Hampe Cobb and Edward Everett Cobb. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gwendelyn Cobb and three older brothers, Edward Cobb Jr., Tommy Cobb and William Cobb. He is survived by his loving wife of 60+ years, Kay Haller Cobb, his daughter, Susan Hill and husband Jeff, his son, Doug Cobb and wife Linn, and his son, Chris Cobb and wife Suzanne. His beloved grandchildren are Kayla Hill, Taylor Hill, Jon Cobb and wife, Madeline, Matthew Cobb and wife, Alyssa, Beth Anne Winkler and husband, Chris, Jordan Cobb, Nathan Cobb, Trenton Cobb and Ryann Cobb. Two beautiful great grandchildren Lily Bell Cobb and Shepherd Bond Cobb.Jon graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio where he met Kay. Jon was a member of the Class of 57 at Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Geology. Jon was an accomplished businessman and industry leader in oil & gas exploration and production. Our father’s passions in life were Jesus Christ, family and time spent fishing in Rockport and hunting at the Rollin’ C Ranch in Crowell. He was a member of Scofield Memorial Church for 39 years and loved all things mission related. He gave Christ credit for all of his many success.Memorial services will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Park Cities Baptist Church, Ellis Chapel, Dallas, TX.
