Mr. Jon Alexander Lewis' Obituary
LEWIS, JON ALEXANDER Our beloved Jon lost his courageous six year battle with melanoma on August 20th, 2007. Jon was born on April 14th, 1958 in Parsons, Kansas to Billie and Gene Lewis and lived much of his early life in Kansas City, MO. Jon graduated from Park Hill High School in 1976 and lettered in football, basketball and baseball. He attended the University of Arizona in Tucson from 1976-1978 and played catcher on the U of A baseball team. He was an active member with Sigma Nu fraternity and made many lifelong friends there. Jon finished his education at the University of Missouri – Columbia, graduating with a BS in Education in 1981, and was a social member with Delta Upsilon fraternity. Jon moved to Dallas, Texas soon after graduation and began a long career in the executive search business. Jon served as a director for Stanton Chase in Dallas and was well respected by his peers and clients. Jon took great satisfaction in helping others find their career paths and is remembered fondly by many of those whose lives he favorably influenced. Prior to Stanton Chase, Jon operated his own executive search boutique (Alexander Lewis Inc.) and spent many years with TASA International in Dallas that later became TMP Worldwide. In addition to his mother and father, Jon is survived by his daughter Samantha, son Ben and their mother Anne Lewis of Dallas, Texas. Survivors also include his brother Joe, his brother Andy Lewis and wife Cindy; and sister Jane Rimer and husband Kirk all of Dallas, Texas. Uncle Jon will never be forgotten by his nieces and nephews, Joey Meredith Lewis, Meredith Lynn Rimer, James Lewis Rimer, Nicholas Andrew Lewis and Christopher Matthew Lewis. Jon will be remembered for his incredible sense of humor and joy for life. His large and loving family and many good friends will miss Jon “holding court” and lighting up the room when he walked in. Jon’s magnetic personality attracted everyone he met, and Jon was lucky to have many consider him their closest friend. The memorial service will be held at Northway Christian Church on Saturday, August 25th at 10:30 a.m. The inurnment will be at Restland Cemetary immediately following the service.
