Mr. Jonathan Peter Riso's Obituary
Jonathan Peter Thomas Riso died August 10th after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Westchester, New York, he lived in Dallas for 20 years. An accomplished cellist, Mr. Riso chose to pursue aeronautic-astronautic engineering. He graduated MIT in 1979 and earned an MBA from Pace University. He began his career at Manufacturers’ Hanover Bank in New York City and most recently was a valued employee of SBC and AT&T. He will be best remembered as a man who made everyone feel special and loved. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Meralea Joe Riso, his father, Eugene Riso, 4 brothers, Eugene (Karen), Paul (Lesli) and Thomas (Traci) of Florida, David (Alicia) of Virginia and one sister Kathleen. He also leaves behind his grandmother-in-law, Li Yong Wong, father-in-law, Wai Yen Joe, 2 sisters-in-law, Lorene Erickson and Jennie Yen and 4 brothers-in-law, Eugene Yen, Jimmy (Connie), Sammy (Lisa), Don, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Agnes Kiernan Riso and mother-in-law, Kim Cook Joe. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. An evening Vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 14th at St. Michael’s Catholic Church; 3713 Harwood Rd. in Bedford, TX. Mass service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15th at St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Garden of Wisdom in Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jonathan’s name to St. Michael’s Catholic Church.
