Jones Carroll McConnell's Obituary
89, of Richardson, TX passed away January 26, 2009. He was born June 23, 1919 in Poolville, TX. Jones served as an Intelligence Officer in the 8th Air Force during WWII. He was preceded in death by his wife Sue of over 50 years. He is survived by his second wife Mary Kelly McConnell and her three children: Jim, Robert, and Annette. He is also survived by son Jones, Jr. and his wife Joan, son Jim and his wife Sandy, four grandchildren; Julie, Jason, Sunny, and Ashley, and seven greatgrandchildren: Darci, Whitney, Ashlyn, Aidan, Jonah, Riley and Kade. Jones worked for over 20 years at the Texas Employment Commission in Garland, TX. He was actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America and attained the rank of Lone Eagle. He was awarded the Silver Beaver for outstanding service. Jones loved playing golf, square dancing (Kissin’ Kuzzins), birding, and stamp collecting. He was an active member of the Apostle Sunday School class at the First United Methodist Church of Richardson where he had been a member for over 55 years. Visitation will be at Restland from 6 to 8PM, Thursday January 29, 2009. Service will be at the FUMC Richardson at 10AM Friday January 30, 2009. Graveside service to follow at 1PM in Restland Memorial Park.
