Pina! I love you so much Pina, I can’t believe you’re no longer with us and that you have been promoted to eternal life with Jesus. I thought it was so funny when Pina would call me her “pastorcito.” Gosh, she really knew how to love well. If there were a few things I learned deeply in my heart from Pina it’s to always keep the family first, no matter the cost. She always prioritized gathering as family around a meal as often as possible. No matter what was going on in our individual lives, what kind of situations or difficulties we were facing, to continue to fight for unity and love. She knew the way a home cooked meal could break down walls of separation and frustration and let love flow. Another thing that I will always be impacted by, I think most, was the way she taught me to fight and never give up. There were special moments where it was just me and Pina and she would look me deep in the eyes and open up her heart with me. She would tell me stories from her past and her upbringing and the challenges she faced in life. With tears in her eyes and a serious look she would always say, “Lo unico que puedes Hacer es seguir adelante, y confiar en Dios Jesus.” She knew how to put her faith in God and continue to fight the good fight, no matter the cost. Pina, I love you! Abrazas a mi Papá por mi Pina! All I can see is her dancing with Jesus in her new glorified body, and hugging him and kissing him, thankful beyond words that she made it into eternal glory.
