Joseph Michael Dominick's Obituary
DOMINICK, JOSEPH MICHAEL Age 86 of Carrollton, Texas passed away peacefully on January 19, 2011 at Brookhaven Nursing Home. He was born on January 2, 1925 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents, Brossie and Minnie. Joseph was the oldest of 2. He attended night school and graduated with a degree in Business. He served in the Army for 2 years and served in World War II, earning 5 Bronze Stars, a Medal of Honor and a Good Conduct Medal. He and his future bride, Teresa, were born at the same hospital in Kansas City, Missouri and met at the Vista Theater in 1947. They married a year later in Hammond, Indiana on July 3, 1948 and were married for 62 years. They had 4 daughters during their life together. From Kansas City, they moved to Chicago, Illinois where he was one of the first people to work in the newly built Sears Tower. In 1975, they relocated to Los Angeles, California until 1986, when they moved to Carrollton, Texas. He enjoyed a successful career as a Systems Analyst/Computer Programmer that spanned 40 years. Joseph was a member of the Catholic Faith. He enjoyed fishing, swimming, dancing with his wife, singing in the shower, looking after his daughters and grandchildren and playing with his dogs. Joseph will be remembered by his children, Sandy and Sam Patterson-Carrollton, Texas, Vicki and Jim Burton-Carrollton, Texas, Debby Dominick-Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Diane and Jon Sanford-The Colony, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Connie Nordin of California; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 62 years, Teresa Dominick just three months earlier on October 10, 2010. Family and friends are invited to a service of remembrance for Joseph at 3:30 PM on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Donations may be made to the national or local chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, in his honor would be appreciated.
