Joseph Leroy Jordan's Obituary
Jospeh Leroy Jordan of Dallas, passed away January 12, 2012 in Dallas, Texas. Joe was born in New Castle, Pennsylvania to Eva Sherer Jordan and Curtis Jordan. He attended New Castle High School and graduated from Dartmouth College in 1947. Joe enjoyed playing golf and tennis and was an avid reader and fisherman. His work as a regional manager for the Terex Division of General Motors brought he and his family to Dallas in 1967. After his retirement from GM, he formed J. L. Jordan and Associates, an executive recruitment firm, which became Jordan-Sitter Associates in 2006. Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, Eva Sherer Betts and Curtis Jordan, and his sister Eleanor Jordan Greco. He is survived by his wife Mary Butz Jordan, daughter Lisa Jordan Haynes and her husband, Ken of Denton, Texas, and son Thomas Jordan of Shreveport, Louisianna; grandchildren Patience, Erin, Lindsey, Jordan, Trevor, and Dylan; two great-grandchildren Blake and Blythe and a host of family and friends. A memorial service celebrating his life and mourning his death will take place at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, 11122 Midway Road, Dallas, Texas on January 21st at 2 p.m.
