Family: We were SO sorry to hear of Joe's passing! He will be missed. I remember drilling with him at the old Sokol located in back of the State Fair Grounds when I was in grade school! He was an excellent gymnast and everyone stopped drilling to watch him whenever he did his High Bar and Rings routines he was so good! I also loved getting a free Czech parek [hot dog weiner] from him to munch on while we waited for our mom to buy meat every Saturday from Rudolph's Meat Market in downtown Dallas where he worked! Rudolph's pareks, by the way, looked and smelled and tasted just exactly like the ones I bought in Ceske Budejovice in the little meat market next door to the Zvon Hotel when I went on a tour around the Czech Republic with my mom to visit our relavtives in July, 2000! I also enjoyed seeing him at all the Czech dances and other events because he was a handsome gentleman with a nice smile and so friendly and easy to talk to! I will keep Joe - and all of us - in my daily prayers! May he Rest In Peace. - Carole [Nemec] Faraizl [February/2021]
