Joseph Edward Pokladnik's Obituary
Joseph Edward Pokladnik, age 95 passed away peacefully on Monday, June 22, 2020 in Fort Worth, TX. He was born August 28, 1924 in Benton County, MN to his parents Cyril Frank and Anna (Kartous) Pokladnik. Joe was the seventh of eight children. He married Floy in Dallas on March 31, 1962. They had three children and was a longtime resident of Dallas for over 75 years. Joe served in the United States Air Force from 1944-1946, then in the Reserves as a Major until 1984 when he retired from the military. He was the General Manager and the face of Rudolph’s Meat Market and Sausage Factory until his retirement.He enjoyed participating in activities and lodges centered around his Czech heritage, dancing, entertaining and being with family. He was a member of SPJST Lodge 84 and 130, Sokol Dallas, KJT/KJZT, WFLA, Sons of Hermann Dallas and Knights of Columbus. Joe also served on the board of several lodges and was a past president of Sokol Dallas.Joe will be remembered by his loving daughters Jennifer and Michelle and husband Laren; grandchildren Brian, Randy, Matthew, Nathan, Austin and Erin.Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Floy; son Carl; siblings Otto, Cyril, Julie, Milton, Frank, Robert and Richard. Family will receive friends on Mon, Jun 29, 2020 from 3-5 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Tue, Jun 30, 2020 at 10 AM at Restland Memorial Chapel to be followed by Committal Services at DFW National Cemetery at 1 PM.
