His journey led him across oceans and into the heart of service, where he proudly served in the United States military, earning the distinguished Purple Heart for his bravery and sacrifice. Joe’s courage was matched only by his vibrant spirit and zest for life.
To know Joe was to know laughter, adventure, and warmth. He was a colorful, fun-loving soul whose passion for motorcycles was rivaled only by his deep devotion to his family. Whether cruising down open roads or sharing stories over coffee, Joe brought joy and energy to every moment.
At the center of Joe’s world was his cherished wife, Kathy Scherf. Their love was the kind that poets write about—a rare and enduring bond that stood the test of time. Together, they built a life filled with affection, resilience, and unforgettable memories.
