Mr. Joseph Ellis Tharp's Obituary
Of Richardson, Texas, passed away on 11/03/08. He is survived by his spouse of 26 years, Marcia Tharp; sons, Jay Patrick Tharp and wife, Peggy, Gary Alan Tharp and wife, Heather, and Gary Luna; daughter, Leslie Luna and five grandchildren, all from the Dallas area. He was a beloved father, husband, friend and instrumental force in many lives as a little league coach of football in the 1960s and a golf enthusiast and tournament organizer for the past 25 years at Hurricane Creek Country Club. He moved to Richardson in 1961 and was employed at Collins Radio/Rockwell International in Richardson for 39 years. He will be greatly missed by his family and scores of friends whose lives he touched with his geniality and warmth. Visitation will be 7:00-8:30 PM, Wednesday, November 5, 2008, at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, November 6, 2008, at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the DDGA Charity Classic, 1737 Lionel Street, #159, Wylie, TX 75098.
