Josephine Padalino Classe's Obituary
One of the sweetest women in the world left this earth Sunday, August 16, 2015. It is rare today that you have the privilege to cross paths with a person who truly had no enemies. A person that all who knew her, considered her a kind and genuine person. Josephine Classe, a member of the Greatest Generation, had a 90 year journey. She was born of Italian immigrants on September 14, 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama. Like many of her generation she grew up during the Great Depression and World War II working beside her parents in the family business helping them through the hard times. In April 1951 she married a tall Texan and moved to Dallas. She and her husband Sam started their own business and family. Josephine had a very blessed life for the next 64 years, filled with children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If you ever had the good fortune to sit at her table, you knew you experienced something special. Cooking for her family and her family’s friends was her delight. Even if you were treated to a feast at her house, you still left with a dish to take home. Josephine was preceded by her husband of 58 years Sam in 2009, her parents John and Sarah Padalino and sister Jennie Padalino Sawyer. She is survived by siblings – Rosalie Classe and Ross Padalino. Spouses – Vick Classe and Frances Padalino. Children – Charlie Classe and Nina Day-Turner. Spouses – Barbara Classe and Randy Turner. Grandchildren – John Classe, Jennifer Cross, Brian Day, Kristal Day, Katie Sullaway and Wiliam Turner. Spouses – Melanie Classe, Jason Cross, Marissa Day, Marshall Sullaway and fiancé Justin Miller. Great Grandchildren – Harley Classe, Mason Classe, Boston Cross, Penn Cross, Braylen Day, Mila Day, Audie Ryan, Destiny Ryan. Rosary will be Thursday, August 20, 2015 at 7:00PM at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, August 21, 2015 at 11:00AM in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations to Komen for the Cure would be appreciated.
