Josephine Delgado's Obituary
Josephine Delgado, 73, was called back home to be with her Lord and Savior, on December 10th, 2024. She was born on December 26th, 1950, in Slaton, Texas, to Rita Silvas and Anthony Hernandez. Josie was the eldest of four children. From a young age, she always looked out for her family and made sure they were taken care of.
Fifty-nine years ago on December 17th, 1967, during a Christmas dance at Lubbock High School, her life was changed forever when she met the love of her life, Ismael Delgado. They married on March 8, 1969, in Lubbock Texas. A few years later, they made Dallas, Texas their home. They built a life together and raised their three children: Damian, Nathan, and Israel, creating wonderful memories throughout their lives. She was a hard-working dedicated wife and mother.
She enjoyed traveling every year with her family. You always saw her drinking her Dr. Pepper and eating Chick-fil-A. She was a faithful member of her church for many years. Later in life she enjoyed the simpler things, especially spending time at home with her husband Ish and her cat Lucky.
She was kind, loving, and selfless. She always saw the good in everyone and all things. Her beautiful bright smile always lit up the room. Her heart was bigger than Texas. If you had the honor to know Josie, then you knew and felt what love was. This is only a tiny glimpse of who she was.
Josie is preceded in death by her parents: Rita and Anthony Hernandez, her brother, Rudy Hernandez and sister Alice Paramo, She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ismael, her three children: Damian, Nathan and Israel, her brother, Manuel Hernandez, her best friend Monica Carrillo Adams, her grandchildren: Nick, Chris, Sarah, Preston, Ariana, great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends who loved her dearly.
Josie will be missed immensely, and her memory will always remain in the hearts of all her knew her.
