Mrs. Josephine C. Huffaker's Obituary
HUFFAKER, JOSEPHINE COSTELLO, “JODIE”, a life long resident of Dallas, departed this world in the early morning on February 9, 2007 after a brief illness. She was born on September 23, 1918 and was the eldest of four children. She was an avid and respected genealogist, having published books on the Gish and Roquemore families and her extensive volunteer work for the Katy Club brought her many years of long lasting friendships. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Booth Huffaker, her sister-in-law, Dorothy Costello, her youngest sister, Sara Comelle Costello, and her parents, Thomas James Costello and Comelle Roquemore Costello. She is survived by her sister, Mary Francis Johnson and her husband Cave Johnson, brother Michael Gibson Costello and his wife Jan Costello, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews whose lives were touched by her wry humor, her straightforward wit, and her shrewd intellect. She had an insatiable passion for history and politics and absolutely adored cats. All of us were blessed with her comfortable confidence and simple approach to life. She died a noble death and has left a legacy of love and generosity and will be remembered fondly and sorely missed by her neighbors, friends, and family. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on February 12, 2007 at Restland Abbey Chapel.
